HOLIDAY DESSERT PARTY

Friendsgiving was a success! We hosted it on Sunday afternoon and here is what was on the menu: Offbeat & Inspired's Pumpkin Spice Belgian Waffles, Free + Native's Vegetable Galette, Apple Cider Donuts from the West Village's Jack Stir Brew, fresh fruit, a vegetable egg frittata, chicken sausage, mulled cider, iced coffee and a mimosa bar. For the waffles, I made some honey butter and Alton Brown's homemade whipped cream. The perfect toppings! For the galette, I adapted it a bit and made it with whole wheat flour and added roasted parsnips and carrots. It was my first time making a homemade crust so I was a bit intimidated, but it was actually really easy.  Everything turned out delicious! So next on the calendar? A dessert party to gather our close friends before the Christmas holiday. I plan on making: Peppermint Ice Cream and Hot Cocoa Affogato, Indoor S'mores, Crepe Cake and some type of holiday cookie. These Confetti Cake Batter Cookies look yummy and fun---something that would be at Momofuku Milk Bar. I'd like to make a festive cocktail---any suggestions?
