When I was young, I would get really excited to go to the Smithsonian Museum gift store after a school field trip so I could look at the gems that you could buy to take home. I still remember loving this Smithsonian pencil that I had that was clear on the top and underneath the eraser, there were all these different colored stones and gems. It was one of my favorites. Yes, I had an obsession with pencils, erasers, markers and crayons when I was a kid. My addiction to gems hasn't died and I really have a love for agate. I have the High Street Market Gold Plated Agate Platter in the top left image above. I get many compliments on it and questions on where I bought it. I use it for many things---mostly for decoration.  I have a glass cloche that I put on top of it and inside I showcase either succulents in vintage silver vessels, seashell and coral finds from the beach or right now, I have a collection of small Christmas ornaments. I have also placed some of my favorite fashion accessories on top of it. Featured are a few other favorite agate finds, RabLabs bookends, RabLab's Kiva Platters and some spectacular agate-patterned wallpaper. Why not, right?
