COVETING: ICE CREAM CRAWL

The cold weather doesn't stop my hankering for ice cream. I have the biggest sweet tooth and so does my friend, Khaalid. We share the same passion for desserts, particularly ice cream. I have been telling him about Ample Hills Creamery in Gowanus, Brooklyn---continually tagging him in their Instagram posts of delicious scoops. He had the genius idea [yes, Khaalid you will love that I just called you that] of having an ice cream crawl. Yes, this does seem a bit gluttonous but don't judge us. I think my four favorite ice cream places would have to be on this crawl. Firstly, I need to introduce him to Ample Hills. My favorite thing about this place is their offering of different types of waffles cones. Yes, they actually have pretzel and chocolate chip waffle cones. It's unreal. While we are in Brooklyn, we would visit Van Leeuwen in Greenpoint. They recently introduced ice cream sandwiches to their menu but unfortunately they are only offered at their Greenpoint location for now. They are yummy! Then, we would head into Manhattan and go to a place that I have been telling Khaalid about for a while---Sundaes & Cones. I have been visiting this cute ice cream shop in the East Village for many years. They have a lot of interesting flavors. And then, the grand finale. Davey's Ice Cream. Also located in the East Village, this place not only has awesome ice cream but they play the best hip hop music and have the friendliest staff. You'll want to hang out in there for a while which is why I chose it as the last stop on the crawl. Their traditional Cookies & Cream is a favorite and I recently tried their Speculoos ice cream which was very tasty. What are some other ice cream joints we should try? Maybe not to add onto this crawl because that would truly make us gluttonous-messes.
