TAKE ME THERE: INN AT WINDMILL LANE

I love Winter. I do. Mostly because one of my favorite things to do is go skiing. But living in New York City during the Winter is not so pretty. White snow turns into black snow with some yellow snow peppered in. So I'm already thinking of Summer. Yes, if you ask me the question, "Would you rather be cold or hot?" I would pick cold. But when I am bundled in multiple layers in temperatures in the teens to twenties and STILL cold, I will most likely change my answer. One Summer, we spent Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons and stayed at Amagansett's Inn at Windmill Lane. It is a beautifully designed property that offers suites in its main building, cottages scattered throughout the grounds and they just opened '21 House'---which is a four bedroom private home. The property is pricey so we opted to stay in one of their suites. They have a terrific layout. My husband and I always say that if we owned a condo we would want it to be laid out just like our suite at the Inn at Windmill Lane as we were fans of the design details and finishings. It had a cozy living area, complete with fireplace [which during Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons is useful as it can still be quite chilly during the night]. Complimentary breakfast is also included in the stay---which included tasty baked goods and wonderful freshly squeezed juices. I still think about their watermelon juice. The property offers cruiser bikes for their guests. We definitely took advantage of that as we love to bike and we love biking on the quiet residential streets in the Hamptons and marveling at the exquisite homes. The property is not right on the beach but it is a short distance away. They offer a beach pass for your car, beach chairs and towels. Inn at Windmill Lane does host weddings on the property so it would be amazing to go back and work on a wedding there!
