TAKE ME THERE: HOTEL FAUCHÈRE

Hotel Fauchère is a boutique hotel that I have stayed at twice. Located in Milford, Pennsylvania it is a short distance from New York City. In fact, there is a bus that leaves from Port Authority and drops right off in Milford. The first time I stayed at this sweet spot was with my sister and mom. We decided to have a girls' getaway and met in Milford. It was a relaxing trip. We explored the main street of the small town which is lined with cute antique shops and boutiques. I purchased a beautiful pair of vintage crystal clip-on ear cuffs that I adore. We picked up some antipasti and sandwiches and headed to Raymondskill Falls, which is the tallest waterfall in the state of Pennsylvania. Upon reaching there, we sat at one of the bases of the waterfall and enjoyed our lunch. The second time I visited the lovely Hotel Fauchère was with my friend, Tiffany. We went there over Memorial Day Weekend last summer. Not only did we take the hike to Raymondskill Falls, but we took a much longer hike that was very beautiful. We also went tubing on the Delaware River. It was through a company called Kittatinny. Since it was Memorial Day Weekend, the weather was a bit chilly so we were the only two tubing down the river. It was amazing. Sunny, with beers in our hand. In regards to the hotel itself---it is certainly special. It is very quaint but well-appointed with beautiful rooms and common spaces. The service is unprecedented. They even bring you milk and delicious cookies and a bedtime story at night. That is what is called full service! Breakfast is included with your stay which includes the most sublime yogurt that I have ever had. It is a fresh, homemade vanilla bean yogurt that is to die for. Also included in the complimentary breakfast is a bruleed grapefruit. So delicious. Bar Louis is a bar and restaurant that is located in the basement of the hotel. It is a great atmosphere that offers yummy fare and cocktails. Late last year, the hotel announced that they were temporarily closing for the winter season and reopening in the April. I am now happy to hear and announce that they decided not to close and are currently open. Book a wonderful stay there. You will certainly enjoy it.
